The Aesthetics of Oriental Materials, an event in collaboration with Capsule Gallery in Venice

What is unique about the philosophy of material beyond the visible and tangible in East Asia, and how is it reflected in East Asian painting tradition and contemporary artistic practices? Prof. Wang Hui, one of the most celebrated intellectuals from China will share his unique perspectives on art and philosophy departing from Zhu Jingshi’s installation and Lee Ufan’s paintings on view at the China Pavilion and Berggruen Art & Culture. The talk will be introduced and moderated by philosopher Wang Ge.
