Junfeng Zhang serves as the Program Coordinator of the Institute’s China Center. His responsibilities involve initiating and managing BI’s China-based projects.

He holds a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Hong Kong and his research focused on the Cold War history. He gained a Bachelor’s degree from Peking University in Indian Studies and Sociology. His intellectual interest spans global history, Cold War, and STS (Science, Technology, and Society) dynamics in East Asian societies. Prior to joining the Berggruen Institute, he worked across both business and intellectual sectors in Hong Kong and Beijing.
