Senior Program Manager, Cross Practice Organizational Initiatives

The Berggruen Institute (BI) is looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager (SPM) to assist the VP of Operations and Chief of Staff in the delivery of interdisciplinary initiatives that support the growth and evolution of the Institute.This role will have broad touch points within the organization and will play a key role in ongoing strategic assessments of the Institute’s programs and initiatives and translating collaboration opportunities between programs and operations. In addition, this role will assist in managing, coordinating, administration and timely execution of quarterly project reviews, including setting, tracking and meeting organizational timeline, coordinating schedules, and facilitating communication between project teams. This position ensures that the organization stays on schedule, and includes coordinating and informing leadership of status and potential issues.

This full-time position is based in the Los Angeles Office, and will be required to be in office during the designated schedule. Currently we operate in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays weekly.

This position will:

  • Support the ongoing development of the Institute’s project model implementation, quarterly program assessments, and annual review and scheduling coordination
  • Support the VP of Operations and Chief of Staff in liaising between programs, project managing operations centered initiatives (with HR, Finance, IT and Operations) and helping generate new ideas for enhancing the innovative ecosystem operationally
  • Generating ideas for enhanced collaboration and support within the Institute
  • Assist the Global Liaison with administration of the J-1 Visa program
  • Support the development of the Institute’s internal/external network management system for maximizing engagement and seamless organizational delivery of work
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure initiatives are executed smoothly
  • Assist in tracking the progress of initiatives and support alignment with the organization’s strategic direction
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate progress, results, and recommendations
  • Assist in developing guidelines to deal with complex or unusual problems
  • Maintain productive and collegial relationships with all stakeholders

  • Deep experience with project management tools/systems
  • Superior written and verbal communication, strong EQ and people management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and self-direct
  • Enthusiasm for problem solving and working through logistical issues
  • Strong technical aptitude and desire to use new technologies and tools to work efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer without visa requirements
  • 5 -7 + years of project/program management experience
  • Knowledge of Chinese or other foreign language, a plus

The hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000 per year commensurate with experience.
